Winners! Best Brunch in Brighton & Hove!
Tucked behind our award-winning brunch restaurant on Third Avenue in Hove, the secret garden at Oeuf is one of Brighton & Hove’s best-kept outdoor dining spots. A private, sun-dappled space surrounded by big trees and pink parasols, it’s the kind of place where a quick coffee turns into a long afternoon. And nobody minds.
Whether you’re here for brunch with friends, a solo coffee and a book, or afternoon spritzes with your dog at your feet, the garden welcomes everyone. We’ve recently extended the space, so there’s now even more room for walk-ins and bigger groups to settle in and enjoy the sunshine.
Oeuf serves breakfast and brunch seven days a week from 9am to 4pm, and the garden is open throughout. Every dish on our menu can be enjoyed outside, from our signature Frumpets and award-winning Full English to plant-based plates and eggs every way you can think of. Our food is locally sourced, seasonally driven, and served with the kind of care that earned us Best Brunch in Brighton & Hove two years running at the BRAVO Awards.
There’s something about eating brunch outdoors in Brighton that just hits differently. The garden catches the sun beautifully, and the parasols and tree canopy give you shade whenever you need it. It’s a proper al fresco dining experience without the noise and wind of a pavement table: sheltered, private, and genuinely relaxing.
The garden isn’t only for people ordering food. If you want to pop in for a coffee, a glass of wine, or something from our cocktail menu, you’re more than welcome. Grab a seat, crack open a book, and let the afternoon disappear.
We also run a weekday spritz deal that’s perfect for afternoon lounging in the garden:
It’s the best excuse to take a long lunch, catch up with a friend, or just sit in the sun with a cold drink and nowhere to be. Few outdoor restaurants in Brighton and Hove offer this kind of relaxed, garden-first drinking experience, and it’s one of the things that makes Oeuf different.
Dogs are welcome in the garden at Oeuf. We know that finding a genuinely dog friendly brunch spot in Brighton and Hove, one with proper outdoor space rather than just a pavement seat, isn’t always easy. The secret garden gives your four-legged friend room to relax while you enjoy your food and drinks in the sunshine. It’s one of the reasons locals keep coming back.
No, you can’t book a guaranteed garden spot. When you make a booking, please do write in the notes that you’d like to be in the garden and we’ll always try to accommodate where possible. Walk-ins are also welcome on a first come, first served basis, and with the newly extended garden, there’s more space than ever.
Brighton and Hove has plenty of cafes with a few outdoor tables, but a private walled garden with mature trees, parasols, and a proper restaurant menu behind it? That’s rarer than you’d think. Here’s what sets the garden at Oeuf apart:
